More hearts!
You were certainly warned many posts ago that there were a lot of heart designs coming in the future. I did not lie. This heart cat is probably one of my favorites so far. It incorporates five different colors and is really a precious design. Once again, this heart cat design is found in the ‘World of Hearts’ collection on Cricut Design Space.
New TeckWrap Craft Products!
I mentioned previously that my most recent order from TeckWrap Craft came with some extra goodies. Along with the nifty weeding pen, I received five sample sheets of their newest glitter adhesive vinyls. The sample sheets were 12″ by 7″, which was the perfect size to do a five layer project.

Naturally, with any new vinyl, I did a test cut to make sure I use a setting to make sure weeding is an easy process. Luckily for me, the first setting I tried (my custom TeckWrap setting) worked perfectly. That is one thing I just love about the company and their products; all can cut on the same setting.
Yeah, but it’s you. What problems did you have?
I know, one project with no problems was already too much. There must have been something to cause an issue. You’re right. My trouble areas for this heart cat are easier to spot in the YouTube process video. It’s definitely not as noticeable in the Instagram version. The last two layers did not weed as easily. For some reason, the silver and magenta took a bit more elbow grease to fully weed out the negative space. The hearts were fmore frequently stuck at the tops. The magenta vinyl even ripped away from itself, leaving remnants stuck at the top of two hearts that had to be removed with tweezers.
It’s important to note that this vinyl requires use of a higher tack transfer tape. My trusted Frisco was not going to work for this one. I even tried and was disappointed. Since the only higher tack tape I had on hand was from Cricut, that is what I used. It worked perfectly. Each layer was picked up and removed from the tape each time. This is honestly the first time I was completely happy with the performance of transfer tape from Cricut and will probably be much more likely to reach for it in the future.
Why do I keep forgetting?
One lesson I learn, forget, then learn again is that when layering different colors, it’s best to start with the lightest color on the transfer tape. Unfortunately for me I saved the silver for the third layer, which meant I had to break out the light table in order to see it clearly enough to layer properly. Had silver been the first layer on the tape, I would have no trouble seeing and lining up the darker colors underneath. Fingers crossed that I remember for next time!
