November 19, 2020: Candy Cane Stickers

Too early?

I have been seeing more and more crafters on YouTube and Instagram getting ready for the holidays and the Christmas bug has finally bit. To dip my toes in just a tad, I decided to make these candy cane stickers to start sticking in random places to hint at the joyful time ahead.

These candy cane stickers are the first of I can only imagine many more holiday themed stickers ahead. I already have some Christmas tree stickers ready to go, so hopefully you will see those within the next two to three posts. All I want for Christmas is…more crafting!

Yeah, something happened…of course!

Naturally, it’s not a project of mine unless something goes outside of the original plan. This time, it was my attempt to use the quick weeding with painter tape tip. I need to practice using the painter tape more to make it work more effectively in the future. This is how we improve ourselves, am I right?

I was hoping it would be as straight forward as it was when I made the layered rainbow. I was wrong. This time, I didn’t take into account the curly parts of the design with detached ends. Those were quick to pull up and rip themselves away from the rest of the design. Unfortunately, it meant I had to scrap one of the six stickers I had originally cut. This is why I like to make multiples of smaller sticker designs. Even if one or two fail, there are plenty more to use as backups!
