First, I just want to say that one picture does NOT show the absolute beauty of this vinyl. This vinyl (probably my favorite color that TeckWrap Craft offers), is absolutely stunning, shifting through just about the entire rainbow. In the picture here, it is purple, a bit blue, pink, and orange, leading into yellow. At another angle, it is a vibrant royal blue to teal, green, yellow, and a bit orange. I have a video of the color shift on my most recent IG post (click the picture to see).

This design was originally made as a skill practice/’I just want to create something’ project like I do every so often. I saw the svg file in a recently purchased bundle pack and thought it would be a good design to cut and weed, as I’m sure there could be a purpose found for it relatively quickly. When I do these ‘I just want to create something’ projects, I rarely have an end goal in mind. They usually get topped with transfer tape and put away in a storage box to save for later as a potential gift for a friend or to decorate some new piece of furniture (which will be happening a LOT in August after the move). But I really find myself enjoying creating to create, instead of waiting for a purpose. It keeps me from slacking off and helps me to continue learning more about my craft. Win-win!

The cutting of the design was very smooth, except when the vinyl pulled up at one point, which blocked the rest of the section from being cut. It happened in different spots on each one I made, so I have b=to be more aware and watch the cut more closely in the future. Luckily, both were easily fixed with an exacto knife. Between cutting and weeding, one iteration of the design took an hour and a half (50 minutes alone was for weeding) with a few little minute long breaks here and there to rest my hand.

As I worked on it, I realized it would be perfect for one of my friends who loves dreamcatchers. So of course, when it was completed, I sent a picture of the finished product to a group chat with her present. As expected, her very quick response was “MINE!!!!!!!!!!!! GIMME GIMME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”. What I didn’t expect was for another friend to respond with “Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!Iwantit!”. She kindly reminded me of her soon approaching birthday. So I ended up making a second one.
