Third One Down!
As mentioned in previous posts on Tuesday and Thursday, I have a bunch of designs in line. This one is design number three. This design can be found in Cricut Design Space as part of the World of Hearts image set. Honestly, this heart rainbow design was just too adorable to pass up. Plus it gave me an opportunity to mix different types of vinyls within one project. Win win!
Of Course I Had Trouble…As Always
Most projects seem as though they are not without their own unique set of nightmares. This project was no different. My first issue was having to recut three of the colors since the first cuts did not completely go through the vinyl. The second issue I had was that with the red and teal vinyl, some of the teeny tiny hearts were either falling away, requiring to be replaced with tweezers, sticking to other parts of the design, or completely going missing. Luckily the design is very dense in heart shapes, so a couple missing ones isn’t too noticeable unless you know where to look.
The third issue was a bit more trouble…I cut the blue vinyl excess away to save as scraps. >.< That was SUPPOSED to be the piece to keep fully intact to use the backing paper to store the design for shipping. I was able to circumvent that problem by using parchment paper in its place. Unfortunately for me, that led to the next issue of the purple glitter vinyl being stubborn and refusing to let go of the parchment paper at times.
Nearing the end, I needed to whip out the light table to properly see through the design. Doing so helps to place the last layers since the yellow opal vinyl was so light without back lighting. That’s ok…I can preserve…AND I DID! Luckily the design is now done and ready to send to its new owner.
Keep Creating
With this project, I actually found a home for almost a dozen finished projects. I will be able to add transfer tape to some that need it and then they will be off to their new home. In doing so, my finished project box has become a bit bare and in need of projects to once again fill it for future gifts. Be prepared to see many more no-purpose-as-of-yet projects from me in the future!
