October 1, 2020: Sometimes We Have a Hard Crafting Fail

Not Even Close!!

So this project was intended to be another addition towards the hearts projects I’ve been doing lately. This is honestly a simple, yet pretty yin and yang design, again from the World of Hearts image set from Cricut Design Space. However, this became a hard crafting fail; such a hard crafting fail that I probably will not revisit it anytime soon.

Here’s a lesson to make sure to do test cuts for your material before going straight into a project. Also to make sure to check that you selected the correct setting before you cut. Instead, apparently I chose the much deeper cut setting next to it.

Looking at the Bright Side

While I will not yet be revisiting this project, I have to look at the bright side here. I now have a bunch of various size glitter heart stickers. Right now, I have absolutely no idea what to do with all of these little glitter heart stickers, but they’re too pretty to just throw away. For now, they will live in an envelope in the finished project box until a purpose for them is found.

Anyone who reads my blog on the regular knows by now that I usually have some kind of blunder on each project I choose to share. One of the reasons for sharing the fails (including this one) is to show other crafters that we all make mistakes. It helps when we share the blunders and how we overcome each one. We learn from each other!

So here’s a chance for you…share your fails, your mishaps, your errors. How did you overcome them? Or did you just move on to something else (because that is ok)? Remember that we are all allowed to feel however we do about each project. The feelings are valid because they are yours. No one can tell you to feel differently. But we can support one another when someone is down to help build them back up and continue crafting. We craft because it brings us happiness and no one should be permitted to take that away.
