Here Every Day
Yes, this is where I spend the majority of my time! I love how the organization works for me. It’s a wonderful work space with room to work and a great place to escape from my husband when he gets online to play Borderlands. Ha! But seriously though, I’ve worked hard to get this space organized to function well for me for all types of purposes and it is finally time to show off that work.
You’ll notice the basic craft room staples such as the workspace to craft, the colorful drawer storage, vinyl rolls, Cricut machine, etc. What else is included makes it much more functional for me, such as the home pod to stream music while I work. Music is a big part of my every day living and gets the creativity and the motivation flowing freely. I’ve also added a TV soI can watch shows, movies, and YouTube videos while working or just hanging out. The couch gives me a comfy place to sit when I need to stretch out a bit or lay down.
One of my favorite little additions is the little pad underneath the right side of my desk. This is actually a fleece blanket my mother made for me years ago that I absolutely adore…as do our two kitties. They have been loving the space to curl up and hang out while we work.
Small Little Secret
What is not pictured is the small standing work space on the other side of the couch, dedicated to my husband for his employment. It’s a neat little work space and he has had fun setting the space up to fit his own style. His little organization system works to give his space aesthetic and be functional all at once, which is great. I like that we work in the same space each day because it gives us a chance to chit chat, share thoughts/projects, soundboard off one another, etc. Unfortunately, due to the nature of his employment, I was not allowed to photograph it and post it publicly. That’s big tech in Silicon Valley for ya!
So what came from where?
I am all about organization and making sure things have a place where I can find them quickly. Let me start with the fact that I am a big fan of Ikea. A significant portion (correction – most of it) came from there. Let’s see:
- all of the lamps
- Kallax cubes (against the wall and in the closet),
- two table tops and legs,
- shelves above the desk & Cricut,
- dresser used as supply storage, and
- all the white vinyl holders
I told you, it was most of it. I have an exact inventory list above as a PDF file for easy viewing. The lovely colorful drawers were from Michael’s, as were the blue storage boxes and washi tape drawers. Naturally, those were purchased with coupons or discounts. Various electronics were from either Best Buy or Apple Store.
The small cart underneath my desk to store additional vinyl rolls and flat sheets of vinyl is from Amazon. You’ll notice a white clamp on the shelf hanging over the workspace. That clamp is where I put my phone for overhead recording when filming various projects and has been a lifesaver in getting the overhead video in just the right spot!
What’s in the closet?
ALL THE STORAGE SPACE! Can you tell that I am a stickler for having functional organization? I really really love the Kallax units from Ikea. The closet has a 4 cube by 3 cube unit with a couple of the drawer inserts for added organization. Most blanks that I keep on hand are in the gray storage bins (of course those are also from Ikea), but some of them have leaked onto the floor in front of it. Whoops! I also have two of the three Bisley drawer sets (one is under the desk) with jewelry making supplies galore! (special thanks to my cousin Kathy for all of those wonderful goodies!)
Since I wanted to keep ample work space on my desk for various sized projects, I set up the printer on the top of the Kallax in the closet. Here, it is still easily accessible for regular use but also tucked away to keep more open table space free for working.
How about that dresser?
The 3 drawer dresser was a fun one to set up. The intention was to find an affordable, practical, sizable storage solution for so many of the small items that normally pile up everywhere. I purchased this dresser and a bunch of the black little drawer insert sets to be able to organize everything as efficiently as possible.

While it’s not the most cutesy or colorful way of organizing everything, it gets the job done and I can work more efficiently, knowing where everything is when I need it.
Anything else?
Is there anything else you’d like to know that I didn’t cover? Feel free to ask below in the comments, on IG or on FB! I am more than happy to share what I can. 🙂
