A Little Whimsy
Don’t we all need a little bit of whimsical joy every once in a while? That’s immediately what came to mind when viewing this moonlight bird mandala design. Another gem from Design Bundles, this moonlight bird was exactly what I needed for a little inner peace to start the weekend.
A few months ago, my world turned upside down (literally). It has been mentioned before, but my family and I were in a pretty bad car wreck in July. It was the scariest moment of my life, surprised even now that no one died. All of the emergency responders said they expected multiple casualties. It was the reason for content here and on my other socials being so off schedule until recently. We all have had a lot of doctor visits and emotional pain from it, so the whimsical moonlight bird was a seemingly good fit for my state of mind lately.
Why make it with no intended use?
Much like how painters paint to express their emotions, I use crafting to express mine. Sometimes, crafting is a way to calm the craziness in my head; other times it’s a way to give a physical form to what I’ve been feeling or want to feel. I’ve had a lot of trouble sleeping, finding myself going through flashbacks frequently (apparently a sign of PTSD). While working with doctors and a therapist does help, I decided to externalize what I want to feel inside as well.
This moonlight bird design made me smile right away. As an avid fan of Sailor Moon, the moon and stars gave me ethereal vibes of magical girls who let no one stand in their way in their fight for what they know is right. It’s a lot like what I would like to be…someone who fights for what I believe in and lets no one and nothing stand in my way. Also, with the most recent PTSD symptoms, fighting monsters seems like a good analogy. So even though I don’t have an intended application in mind for the design, just bringing it to life through art helps me to express myself a little more.
This Vinyl
I can only imagine some may be thinking that I’m using the TeckWrap Craft products too much. I really can’t help myself, though. For the moonlight bird, I felt the white opal vinyl would be a nice fit since it shifts so drastically through so many colors, settling in on the bluish white when looking at it straight on. The vibrancy of some of the colors are too stunning to not show off in pictures and video whenever possible. Add in the fact that their products cut and weed like a dream makes it that much more worth it to use so frequently. Very rarely have I had any issues with TeckWrap Craft’s products and the few times I have, it’s been more user error.

I’m so sorry you and the family had to go through that. I am glad that you are able to find an outlet to help. We love you and love the work you are doing girly. ❤❤❤
Thanks 🙂 I haven’t talked much about everything (because there is just so much packed into such a short time span), but I’m realizing more and more that it does help to share, even just a little bit, and to manifest emotions into projects. I need more color and happy in my life! LOL
