November 28, 2020: Rainbow Unicorn Canvas

Products Used

Oh So Pretty

Remember when I said previously that I purchased a bunch of new products from TeckWrap Craft? Here’s another one! This rainbow unicorn canvas was made with their new PU HTV. I love that this HTV is so soft and flexible. It really helps bring this rainbow unicorn canvas to life!

I should also mention how easy this product is to cut and to weed. I had no trouble with cutting or weeding it at all. For the Cricut Maker, I used my custom TeckWrap Craft setting with a pressure of 110 (Click HERE to see how to make your own custom settings in Design Space). What I am loving more and more about products from this company is that I can successfully cut every single product I have with the same setting, regardless of whether it is adhesive, itv, holographic, matte, textured, etc.

Be prepared to see some more new products soon!

Weeding Therapy Indeed

This rainbow unicorn canvas took a total of one hour to complete (not including cut time). I was surprised that it was able to be weeded within 45 minutes given the complexity of the cut…all of those small, tiny little details. To be honest, the weeding part went by so quickly that I was sad when it was over and I had to move on.

HTV on Canvas

After so many tries using adhesive vinyl on canvas, I finally went the route of using HTV. It did not disappoint. This was by far the easiest and most straightforward application on canvas to date. I can definitely see why so many use this method for canvases. It will certainly become my go-to method for making canvas pieces in the future.

There will certainly be times when I will use adhesive over HTV, such as when I use seven different vinyls for one canvas. Yeah, that was a wee bit crazy. But it gives such a great look that it would be hard to give that complexity up for HTV, of which I have significantly less designs on hand.
