Reminders are Helpful
Some may have noticed a lot more lately that I need to remind myself of the positives. I mentioned Tuesday that things have been stressful. I keep going through each day to do what I love and sharing it with whoever wants to see it. I’m continuing to build myself up and provide valuable, high quality content…or at least as high of a quality as I can. I remind myself regularly in my daily planner that I can have good days and feel good about my efforts. Hopefully adding this good day sign to my work space will help cement that thought even more.
Another Attempt at Canvas
I recently saw some tips (I really wish I could remember where) for getting adhesive vinyl to adhere better to canvas. One day, I’ll probably break down and start using some HTV, but today was not that day. The tip I tried for this good day sign was prepping the canvas with acrylic paint before applying the vinyl.
I let the paint dry for about 30 minutes before applying the vinyl. It was dry to the touch, even with pressure. The paint also did not pull up with the transfer tape, which is a concern I had going into this. While the vinyl did have an easier time sticking to the canvas after it was painted, it still took time and patience to release it from the transfer tape. Naturally, it’s sped up in the process video, but the total time to lift the transfer tape away from the design was about twenty minutes. Like I said, patience was necessary.
Any Tips to Share?
I’m all about sharing my own experiences and explaining as best I can what I do when I find myself in a pickle with a project. I regularly turn to Google when I am looking for detailed steps to try something new. TikTok has also been quite the resource lately with loads of video tips just waiting to be viewed.
